Philippians 1:6 (ASV) being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Philippians 1:9-11 (ASV)

9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment;

10 so that ye may approve the things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and void of offence unto the day of Christ;

11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are through Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.
We, like Paul, can be confident that the work Jesus started in peoples lives (including ours), He, Himself will complete it. 
This prayer from Paul encourages us to grow in love that is: 
• the love for God, 
• the love for His people and 
• the lover for our neighbours. 
It also encourages us to also grow in: 
• the knowledge God, and 
• the knowledge of His word 
and through that develop more and more discernment.
If we grow in these we will not cause offence to our bothers and sisters because of the sincerity in our heart demonstrating what is excellent, good and right. 
Walking in the righteousness of God for His glory alone.
