Instructions Of Walking Before The LORD – 2024.02.22

Philippians 4:4-9 (KJV)

4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

These are very important instruction on how to walk before the Lord and each other.
We are to rejoice and keep rejoicing in the Lord. Look what the Lord has done on the cross for us, demonstrating his love, mercy and grace. We can rejoice in that all the time let alone the many other things He does in our life.

Out of this we then can express His love in us in gentleness to everyone we interact with. His return is imminent so let us keep living His way, following Jesus.
Part of that is being committed to regular time sitting at Jesus feet praying casing our burdens before Him (Psalms 61:1-3, Isaiah 41:10). If we do this He guarantees us the peace He has promised.

John 14:27 (KJV) Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

And that peace is beyond what we can comprehend and it will protect us from the trickery of the enemy of our soul and the flesh.

Wait there is even more as we start focusing our mind purposefully on everything listed in verse 8. Having that continuous focus on what is: pure, lovely, good, virtuous and worthy of praise, will also empower us to stand fast in the Lord (Philippians 4:1b (NKJV) ..so stand fast in the Lord, beloved.) in these dangerous times.

Then we are shown another very important thing that we need to do to help us to: remain in the peace Jesus promised, rejoice and to stand fast in the Lord.  It is that we need to be teachable and learn from those of us who: are mature in Christ, know the Word of God and rightly divide the the Word of God.
