Exodus 16:4 (KJV) Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.
Exodus 16:19-20 (KJV)
19 And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning.
20 Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them.
Exodus 16:26-28 (KJV)
26 Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.
27 And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none.
28 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?
God test our character, faithfulness and obedience to Him in various ways. Jesus said the following:
Luke 16:10-13 (KJV)
10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?
13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
If we are not faithful and content with the little He provides then how can we expect more?
God tests us so we can see our shortcoming and have an opportunity to grow. If we don’t pass a test He allows us to go learn form our mistakes and test us until we pass.
One thing I learned is Jesus doesn’t want us to remain in our current condition and there is always room for improvement, none of us is 100% Christ like and as long as we live He gives us opportunities to grow. We need to recognise these opportunities and let Him work His transformation in us.
