Isaiah 40:28-31 (KJV)
28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
God never runs out of energy. He doesn’t get puffed out like us. What He knows and understands is beyond us. Even though we are weak and get weary we can be confident that He can and will give use the power we need and He renews our strength so that we can fulfil His purpose in our life’s (the good works He prepared for us). There is a condition to lay hold of this and that is to wait on the Lord. When we wait we are renewed. We can thank the Lord for the Holy Spirit, who now dwells in us, whom He has sent as our Helper and who empowers us. We need to be filled by the Holy Spirit daily. Waiting on the Lord requires devotion, faith, humility, surrender and patience. Waiting is sitting at the feet of Jesus, being in His presence, hearing what He is saying and allowing Him fill us with His Holy Spirit. There we find the grace to keep going.
