GOD’s Great Love – 2024.04.02

Acts 9:1-6 (KJV)

1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,

2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.

3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

Reading this reminds me of God’s great love. That He loved us while we were still His enemies. He also want us to walk in that love.
Matthew 5:44 (KJV) But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Only He knows who will repent and come to Him. Could our greatest enemy become the next Paul? God’s ways are way above ours. We would think a life without problems and difficulty be the greatest witness for Jesus but, if we think that, we are so wrong. Somehow God is gloried through suffering. His ways are so above our ways and so we just have to believe Him and walk by faith, despite what we feel, hear or see.
Acts 9:16 (KJV) For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.
In the end it is all for His glory and for our benefit.

James 1:2-4 (KJV)

2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Whatever we face let us face it with the joy of the LORD for He is our strength and His love is beyond comprehension.
