Psalms 117:1-2 (KJV)
1 O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.
2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.
GOD deserves the praise of every nation and people. Two of the reasons He is deserving of everyone’s praise is that:
- His kindness is so full of mercy and is so great towards everyone. Romans 5:10-11 (KJV) 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. This is all because John 3:16-21 (KJV) 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
- Verse 21 leads us to the second reason, which is that the Truth of the LORD endures forever. He Himself said John 14:6-7 (KJV) 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. Jesus Himself is the Truth. Jesus is GOD and is eternal therefore enduring forever. What He says and does will remain. If we know and believe in the truth of the gospel we know Him and therefore also know the Father. Doing the truth is believing in Jesus Christ when hearing the good news. On a side note, in our reading today of 1 John 4:1-6 we see how we can know/discern if people are from GOD (three attributes verses 2,4 and 6) or not (four attributes verses 3, 5 and 6) and have the truth or error.
We are in a time where lies and deceptions are rampant everywhere and are increasing. Many people actually want to believe the lies rather than the truth because of their sin which they so love and don’t want to be accountable of and repent of. Because of this GOD gave them over to their much loved depravity. have a read of Romans 1:18-32 (here is an excerpt: Romans 1:25-26 (KJV) 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:) So because of the rejection of the Truth and the love of sin we can see that
2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 (KJV) 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Be encouraged, no matter how many lies are being uttered and how many people believe the deception; He, His Word and Truth remains forever. It will not change with the trends of this world. The world might not hear or believe, but that does not change the Truth. He does not change Malachi 3:6. And Hebrews 13:8 (KJV) Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Therefore, as He is not fickle minded, we can put our full trust in Him and not fear that He will change His mind. 2 Timothy 2:19 (KJV) Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. In the end we know that as written in Philippians 2:10-11 (KJV)
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Let us bow before Him, keep confessing the Lordship of Jesus Christ and thank the LORD.
Let us praise Him For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.
