Our Testimony – 2024.04.19

ACTS 26
Have a read of the whole chapter from our bible reading plan.
Paul shares his testimony before king Agrippa, Festus and most likely others.
Sharing our testimony is one of the main ways for us to share the gospel. Jesus uses our testimonies as a witness of what He has done in our live and can do in others.
Revelation 19:10 (KJV) And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
We all have a unique testimony. Some, from a human perspective, are outstanding and others seem insignificant. But GOD gave each one our testimony. He is the one who knows best and to whom we will be sharing it. Some people might only hear our testimony other might hear many. We all are coworkers in His field and He is the LORD of the harvest. Luke 10:2 (KJV) Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
As part of his testimony Paul stresses the doctrine of the resurrection from the dead and finalises it with the gospel.
Acts 26:22-23 (KJV)
22 Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:
23 That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.
When we share our testimony we need to always point to Jesus, His death and resurrections incorporating the gospel. The Holy Spirit is the one who will work in the hearer heart.
John 16:8-11 (KJV)
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
We just need to give people the opportunity to decide as Paul did here.
Acts 26:27-29 (KJV)
27 King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest.
28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.
29 And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.
Let us reflect on all the things the LORD has done in our life starting from our conversion to now to refresh our memory and see what the LORD has done. We all have multiple testimonies of GOD working in our live demonstrating His love, goodness, …. Let us take note of them, even write them out and let the Holy Spirit work in our heart to sanctify us more and more so we are ready to share whoever gives us an opportunity.
1 Peter 3:15 (NKJV) But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;
