Acts 28:1-6 (KJV)
1 And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita.
2 And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.
3 And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.
4 And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.
5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.
6 Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.
Paul was told by an angel sent by Jesus: Acts 27:23-24 (KJV)
23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. Even though the LORD sent him, he faced many trials but the LORD delivered him from all of them to the end.
When the LORD sends us on a mission and it is yet not complete, then we can be assured of difficulties but also His protection. In our daily bible reading we can see that assurance in
Psalms 121:1-8 (KJV)
1 A Song of degrees. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
He, the LORD, comes to help those who are His and look to Him. Nothing is to hard for Him for He has created the heavens and earth. He is the Good Shepherd, the keeper, of His people and does not rest in watching over them. This talks about Israel and we can also include ourself in this if we have been grafted into vine by faith in Jesus Christ.
Let us not be afraid, let us trust the LORD in what we are facing, looking to Him. Hebrews 12:2 (KJV) Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
For He has our back, as we are on mission for Him till He says “your race is finished, come home to me”.
