Crying out for forgiveness – 2024.05.01

Psalms 130:1-8 (KJV)
1 A Song of degrees. Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD.
2 Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
3 If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?
4 But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.
5 I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
6 My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.
7 Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.
8 And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
Here again we read about GOD’s mercy and forgiveness following on from yesterday’s devotion (Forgiveness needs to be followed by repentance – 2024.04.30).
Again we see that the LORD is full of mercy and abundant salvation (verse 7).
Let us thank and praise the LORD that only He is righteous, merciful and mighty to save. He will return to judges the nations…
“Isaiah 63:1 (KJV) Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.”
GOD made the way through Calvary (the work of Jesus Christ on the cross – the ultimate sacrifice for sin) to forgive and save those who believe in the good news and cry out to Jesus who has become the resurrected High Priest making intercession in heaven.
“Hebrews 7:25 (KJV) Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”
When we are down and out, overcome by sin, in the depths of despair, unable to overcome, in a place where we realise we can’t help or save ourself let us come to realise the mercies of GOD and that only Jesus Christ is able to deliver us, forgive us and save us to the uttermost – abundantly. Forgiveness of sin requires faith in Jesus Christ “John 8:24 (KJV) I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.” He is the only way for anyone to be saved. “Acts 4:10-12 (KJV)
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” He himself said “John 14:6 (KJV) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Be assured that in Jesus Christ forgiveness is available to all who cry out to Him “Ephesians 1:7 (KJV) In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;”
