“John 14:27 (KJV) Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
Let us cease from our labours, trying to make things happen ourself and anxieties. We have rest and peace in GOD.
“Philippians 4:6 (KJV) Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
[“Be careful” here means == G3309 (Strong)
μεριμνάω
merimnaō
mer-im-nah’-o
From G3308; to be anxious about: – (be, have) care (-ful), take thought.]
We are exhorted. Not to be anxious for anything.
We should not let our hearts be troubled by what we hear or see or think might happen.
We should not be fearful by what we hear or see or think might happen.
Jesus has left us, who believe, with an inheritance and that is His peace. His peace is not a lack of war, trouble, difficulties, … it is an inner peace when going through these difficulties. We can have total trust in the LORD and no matter what happens we will be with Him.
“Romans 8:35-39 (KJV)
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Absolutely nothing we experience can separate us from the love of Christ! He empowers us to go through (conquer) those troubles by having peace in the midst of the trial.
In the beginning of chapter 14 in John we read
“John 14:1-4 (KJV)
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.”
So, no matter what, we can have peace and not let our hearts not be troubled because He is preparing a place in heaven for us and when we die Jesus Christ will receive us to Himself and we will be there with Him in His glorious presence.
So let us lay aside our troubles, call on Him, and lay hold of the peace He has left us as an inheritance.
