It is finished – 2024.05.11

“John 19:30 (KJV) When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.”
Jesus victory cry “it is finished”. He completed the work He was sent to do. The work of salvation has been completed. He died for our sins.
“John 3:14-21 (KJV) And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.”
Jesus was lifted up as the serpent in the wilderness. Now all who believe in Him will be saved. He paid the price for our sins. There is nothing to add to be saved. Jesus Christ has done it all on the cross. He has made the way for all who come to Him “John 14:6 (KJV) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (see Way-maker – 2024.04.25 https://missioncommunities.network/2024/04/25/way-maker-2024-04-25/) We now can enter His rest. (See How to find rest – 2024.05.03 https://missioncommunities.network/2024/05/03/how-to-find-rest-2024-05-03/).
Jesus Christ completed what He set out to do. “Luke 9:51 (KJV) And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,” “Luke 9:56a (KJV) For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them…” He knew it right from the beginning “Luke 2:49 (KJV) And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?”
