Proverbs 11:3-11 (KJV)
3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.
5 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.
7 When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth.
8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.
9 An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
10 When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.
11 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
It is essential to know that our righteousness does not come from ourself but from Jesus Christ through faith. “Philippians 3:9 (KJV) And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:”
Having Jesus Christ righteousness we have the following benefits that also come from Him and His goodness.

• Guidance as we walk in integrity – Verse 3 and 5
• Deliverance from wrath that results in death, eternal judgment and hell – Verse 4 and 6
• Deliverance from catastrophe- verse 6 and 8
• Deliverance from false accusations – verse 9
• GOD rewards those who have faith in Him – “Proverbs 11:18 (KJV) The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.”
• Life here on earth and eternal life and help others to find it – “Proverbs 11:19 (KJV) As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.” And “Proverbs 11:30 (KJV) The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.”
• Deliverance of further generation (heritage of righteousness) – “Proverbs 11:21 (KJV) Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.”
• The expectation of good things to some (now and when we are in heaven) – “Proverbs 11:23 (KJV) The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.“
• Flourish – “Proverbs 11:28 (KJV) He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.”
• Rewarded here on earth – “Proverbs 11:31 (KJV) Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.”

His righteousness in us also extends to those around us

• It brings joy – verse 10
• It brings prosperity, renown and peace – verse 11

Let us thank the LORD for His salvation, His guidance here on earth, His deliverance form death and hell, that we can expect good to come even when bad things happen, that He will flourish us, that, through Him, we be are a blessing to those around us, His reward that He gives even though we did not deserve it.
