Stewardship and faithfulness – 2024.06.04

1 Corinthians 4:2 (KJV) Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
The expectations from stewards is faithfulness.
If we give someone responsibility over something we expect them to carry it out.
GOD has made us stewards over what He entrusted us. Everything we have here on earth, plus our gifts and abilities, and even our own body come from and belong to Him. “1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (KJV) What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” We are to take good care of and use what He has given wisely. That includes to not entangle ourselves in sin walk in repentance, use it all for the good works He has prepared for us in advance. “Ephesians 2:10 (KJV) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” It is our responsibility to learn, grow in, maintain and be fruitful in what He has given us “Titus 3:8 (KJV) This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.”,“Titus 3:14 (KJV) And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.” GOD encourages us to use our gifts from Him to help others. Thank GOD that we do not have to do it with our own abilities, otherwise we would burn our and fail, but He who asks us to be stewards empowers us, gives us the ability, to actually fulfil our stewardship.
“1 Peter 4:10-11 (KJV) As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”
It is very important to know and understand that good works and good stewardship is not what saves us. It is faith in Jesus Christ, and what He accomplished on the cross. “2 Timothy 1:9-10 (KJV) Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, 10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:”
As we gather together let us encourage one another to be good stewards and faithful servants. “Hebrews 10:24 (KJV) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:” So that when we meet Jesus, there be not much: wood, hay, and stubble but a lot of: gold, silver, and precious stones “1 Corinthians 3:12-13 (KJV) Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.” And He will say: ”Matthew 25:23 (KJV) His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”
