Luke 10:40 (KJV) But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
We can be easily be distracted (cambered, hampered, hindered) with serving in the church from what the LORD actually desires. Yes, serving is needed but should not distract, hinder, or hamper us to such a point that we get overworked, troubled, anxious about it and loose sight of of what is the most important thing. “Luke 10:41 (KJV) And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:”
These is a time to serve but there is more importantly a time to sit a Jesus feet and learn from Him. “Luke 10:42 (KJV) But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” This is where we build our relationship with Him and out of this relationship we can then serve in the way the LORD desires.
Let us ensure we spend time at Jesus Christ feet every day and make this our highest priority otherwise we will end up doing things that are not necessary, cause us to stress out, overwork ourself, and be troubled. “Luke 10:39 (KJV) And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.”
