Philippians 3:12-14 (KJV)
12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
No one alive has fully attained the goal and prize or has been made 100% perfect as Jesus Christ is. He is in us and we are continually changed to His likeness as we surrender to Him. The goal and prize awaits us in heaven. “1 John 3:1-3 (KJV) Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.”.
Therefore let nothing cause to to stop or give up following Jesus but keep on keeping on. Let us learn from our mistakes and then leave them behind and keep on looking and reaching ahead. For example, if we have caused trouble to others let us ask for forgiveness, repent and decide to be and be a blessing instead. “2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (KJV) For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
This reminds me of a song which goes something like this:
“The move is on my Lord, the move is on,
The move is on my Lord the move is on,
I can hear the rustle in the mulberry trees,
And I know, I know, I know the move is on,
Move on Brother, move on Sister,
This is the moving day,
Move a little closer, where the streams are flowing,
Move on Brother, move on…”
Let us encourage one another to keep on keeping on in what Jesus has laid hold for us. “Philippians 3:20 (KJV) For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:”
