Psalms 6:1-4 (KJV)
1 To the chief Musician on Neginoth upon Sheminith, A Psalm of David. O LORD, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.
2 Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed.
3 My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O LORD, how long?
4 Return, O LORD, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies’ sake.
David calls out to the LORD GOD almighty for mercy and healing. Hi prayers are desperate and full of groaning and weeping. No none can save him but GOD.
“Psalms 6:6-7 (KJV) I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears. 7 Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies.”
Then with rises as he becomes assured that the LORD heard his prayer and will do something about it.
“Psalms 6:8-9 (KJV) Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping. 9 The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer.”
When we cry out to the LORD, we can be assured He hears us and saves. “Romans 10:13 (KJV) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” The He sends His word, giving us a revealed word from the scripture and trough the Word of God comes the healing.
“Psalms 107:19-21 (KJV) Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. 20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. 21 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!”
Let us give praise and thanks to the LORD GOD for His goodness, mercy, healing and the wonderfull works He performed for all who call on Him because His love and mercy endures forever.
Jesus Christ himself is the Word of God and it is written that “1 Peter 2:24 (KJV) Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”
Let us be encouraged and encourage one another not grow weary on calling on the LORD in our troubles and sickness but keep looking to Him, calling out for Him and trusting in Him to rescue us.
