Remember and trust – 2024.08.16

Psalms 20:7 (KJV) Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
In what do we really put our trust? “Romans 8:5-8 (KJV) For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.” When we set our mind on on the tings of the flesh like chariots and horses we are carnally minded.
The LORD wants us to be set our mind on spiritual things and walk after the Holy Spirit. “Romans 8:1-4 (KJV) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
Jesus Christ enabled this on the cross by fulfilling all righteousness “Romans 8:9-11 (KJV) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”. Therefore He empowers us by the Holy Spirit to walk in Him and not in the flesh so instead of putting our trust on earthly things like chariots and horses (government, money, people….) to save us we instead remember the LORD Jesus Christ and His work on the cross. This is what is written about the name of Jesus Christ in Philippians 2:6-11 (KJV) “Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” We place our full trust in Him, for He sure is able to save.
Therefore be encouraged to put our full trust in Jesus Christ, to make it our aim to live and walk in Him being content in that “1 Timothy 6:6 (KJV) But godliness with contentment is great gain.”
