Drifting by neglect – 2024.08.26

Hebrews 2:1-3 (KJV)
1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
We are warned here that by neglecting our salvation we can drift away from the LORD. GOD is just and will reward sin. Therefore we are encouraged to give heed to what we heard. How do we give heed? Many iMessage the scriptures tell us to watch and remember, like in “Acts 20:31-32 (KJV) Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears. [32] And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.” The LORD Jesus Christ is the one who who keeps us and has given us the Word of Grace (the bible). He and the Word of God are able to sanctify and give us an inheritance. It is GOD’s grace that saves us “Ephesians 2:8 (KJV) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” We cooperate with Jesus Christ by staying and obeying His word. This we do by regularly: gathering together with the our brothers and sisters in Christ, studying His word, discovering, practicing and using the Gifts He has given us, praying, being His witnesses…. Doing this will keep us from drifting.
Therefore be encouraged to watch and take heed, staying under the Word of Grace is able to build us up.
