GOD’s promises do not make us exempt from hardship – 2024.09.02

Acts 27:20-26 (KJV)
20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.
21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.
22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.
23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.
25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.
26 Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.
The LORD Jesus Christ promised Paul in the midst of persecution that He will be a witness at Rome. “Acts 23:10-11 (KJV) And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him by force from among them, and to bring him into the castle. [11] And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.” To get to Rome was not a stroll in the park for him. He faced many difficulties that could ended his life. But GOD I faithful to His promises and in the very dark times He encouraged Him like in Acts 27 where an angel of the LORD reaffirmed GOD’s promise to Him and provided encouragement and instructions.
Therefore be encouraged and know that “Hebrews 10:23 (KJV) Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)”. He will not bring us through things we can not not handle. He is the one Who gives us the strength and courage. “1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV) There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”. Let us keep trusting in and holding fast on Him.
