Psalms 42:1-3 (KJV)
1 To the chief Musician, Maschil, for the sons of Korah. As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
3 My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?
It is very good to thirst for GOD. Jesus Christ made the way for everyone to come to GOD. He said “Matthew 5:6 (KJV) Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” He promises us that “Matthew 7:7-8 (KJV) Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: [8] For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”
How did Jesus Christ make the way for us to come to GOD? Jesus Christ said “John 14:6 (KJV) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” So He, Himself is the way. Through faith in Jesus Christ we can come to GOD the Father. “John 3:16-21 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [19] And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. [20] For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. [21] But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.”. Sin is what is blocking the way to GOD. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice on the cross for the removal of our sins “John 1:29 (KJV) The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” Through faith in the good news of Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection we are reconciled with GOD and become part of His family. “Romans 8:16-17 (KJV) The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: [17] And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”
Be encourage to hunger and thirst for Jesus Christ. He is our righteousness if we but our trust in Him. Let us not stop calling on the LORD. “Romans 10:13 (KJV) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”. He will hear and answer.
