1 Samuel 8:5-7 (KJV)
5 And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.
6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.
7 And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.
It is best if we have to make an important decision to inquire from the LORD.
As Samuel we might find that what we are to do is different to what we think and pleases us. “1 Samuel 8:9 (KJV) Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.”.When we ask, the LORD will give us the wisdom and the way forward. “James 1:5 (KJV) If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”. When we ask GOD for guidance we need to ask in faith, believing and not being double minded “James 1:6-8 (KJV) But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. [7] For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. [8] A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”
Be encouraged that when facing big decisions to enquire of the LORD and trust in His guidance as His ways are perfect and not like ours “Deuteronomy 32:3-4 (KJV) Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God. [4] He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.”
