1 Samuel 16:7 (KJV) But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
A famous saying about first impressions is “You never get a second chance to make a good first impression.”. We often judge a person we have just meet by how they look and or how they are dressed, and or how they speak and or how they act. These things often are a masquerade and when we get to know them we start realising who they really are. Here we discover that the LORD GOD looks at people not based on the outside appearance but at the heart. He know our deepest thoughts. Nothing is hidden before Him. Have a read of Psalms 139:1. It tell us that He knows us inside out. No matter where we are He knows. He has made us and knows every little detail. Therefore it does not make sense to hide before GOD our creator. People are trying to hide form GOD but will realise, in the end, that they can not. “Revelation 6:12-17 (KJV) And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; [13] And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. [14] And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. [15] And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; [16] And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: [17] For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”
In the end let us consider this: “Luke 8:17 (KJV) For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.”
“1 Corinthians 4:5 (KJV) Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.”
Therefore let us be encouraged instead to pour our heart before the LORD GOD our Father who is in heaven and come to Him by faith in and through Jesus Christ His only begotten son who has made the way for us to be reconciled with Him through His willing sacrifice on the cross so that His blood cleanses us from all our sin. Let us like David turn to GOD and pray: “Psalms 139:23-24 (KJV) Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: [24] And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
