Prospering of our soul – 2024.09.27

3 John 1:2 (KJV) Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
The prospering of our souls is most important. Prosperity in everything else is secondary like our health. GOD created us with a body, a soul and a spirit. When we are born again, our spirit is saved, and will go to heaven. Now as we live on this earth our responsibility is for our souls to prosper. Our souls is our emotions, feelings, our mind. One could say – salvation/renewal of our souls. “James 1:21-25 (KJV) Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. [22] But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. [23] For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: [24] For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. [25] But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”. This renewal of our soul is achieved by hearing the Word of God and applying it in our life. It transforms our souls and we start producing more and more the fruits of the Holy Spirit in our life. “Romans 12:1-2 (KJV) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. [2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” One we are taken to heaven our body will also be saved and we will get a new body free from the corruption of sin.
Therefore be encouraged to let the Word of God renew, transform you by daily reading and studying it enveloped by prayer and gather together with other brothers and sisters so we can sharpen each other to be a greater reflection of Jesus Christ our saviour.
“Ephesians 5:26-27 (KJV) That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, [27] That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”
