Way to heaven part 2 – 2024.10.04

Matthew 7:13-14 (KJV)
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Let us continue looking a the way to heaven following on from “Way to heaven – 2024.10.03 https://missioncommunities.network/2024/10/03/way-to-heaven-2024-10-03/
Yesterday we discovered that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life and that there is no other way to heaven. Today we discover from the verses above that there is also a way that leads to destruction. This is the way to hell. This way is broad and the gate to hell is wide. It is an easy way to walk along and an easy gather to go through. The broad way allows all opinions, believes, ideologies, … that do not conform to Jesus. Therefore many people will take this path and chose it. There are many reasons for that and one of them is that is is easier and seemingly filled with pleasures of the world. We need to understand that sin deceives and hardens hearts “Hebrews 3:13 (KJV) But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.”
Thank GOD Jesus Christ dealt with sin on the cross and made the way to heaven as we saw in the previous devotion. When we decide to have faith in Jesus Christ we choose the narrow gate and way to heaven. It is a path less chosen and trodden. It is narrow because it is singular. One can only walk that way with faith in Jesus Christ and a repentant, soft heart yielding to GOD. “James 4:6 (KJV) But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”. Waking GOD’s way is counter to the world and therefore whoever walk it will encounter persecution and opposition from ones own flesh, people who what the broad way and the devil with his demons who fight against us “Ephesians 6:10-13 (KJV) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. [11] Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. [12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. [13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Therefore we need to be strong in the LORD and keep putting on Jesus Christ every day and keep exhorting one another every day. That is one of the reasons these devotions are written but they do not replace the actual gathering together of the people who are following Jesus Christ (His church).
Be encouraged today to either decide to start following Jesus Christ, turn from backsliding and start following Jesus Christ again or continue to keep on keeping on in Jesus Christ.
