Escaping the second death – 2024.10.19
Revelation 20:11-15 (KJV) And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. [12] And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. [13] And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. [14] And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. [15] And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
There are two deaths. The first death is inevitable unless one it taken up in the rapture (see “Waiting for the rapture – 2024.08.031 https://missioncommunities.network/2024/08/03/waiting-for-the-rapture-2024-08-03/”). The second death mentioned here can be avoided. The second death is being cast into the lake of fire for eternity, unending suffering. How do we escape the second death? We escape it if our names are written in the book of life. How do we ensure our names are in the book of life and not erased from it (”Luke 10:20 (KJV) Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.”
“Revelation 3:5 (KJV) He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.”)
Guess what, GOD himself created the way of escape for us. All we need to do it follow it. “John 3:16-21 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [19] And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. [20] For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. [21] But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.” All we need to do is have faith in Jesus Christ. GOD commanded everyone to believe in Jesus Christ and if we do we are saved from the second death “1 John 3:23 (KJV) And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.”. When we put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ we will stop following our old and then worlds ways and instead follow Jesus and the Kingdom of God (His) way. This is a turning away from sin and turning to GOD, which is called repentance. There are many things that will try to move us of the path but we need keep our eyes, faith and trust in Jesus Christ. 
Therefore be encouraged to believe in, keep on believing, and follow, keep on following Jesus Christ “Matthew 7:24-27 (KJV) Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: [25] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. [26] And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: [27] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.”
