2 Samuel 23:2 (KJV) The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.
GOD still speaks to us by the Holy Spirit. How does He do this? There are quiet a few ways He speaks. One and the most common way GOD speaks to us is through His word, the bible, and the Holy Spirit who dwells in the believer reveals, gives understanding and teaches the Word of God. “John 14:25-26 (KJV) These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. [26] But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”. The bible is the Word of God and when we discipline ourself to read, believe, learn, remember, study and pray according to it we place ourself in a position for GOD to teach and talk to us. He will guide our life. “Psalms 119:105 (KJV) NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”.
Therefore be encouraged to start or keep on reading, believing, learning, remembering, studying and praying the bible. When opening GOD’s word ask the LORD Jesus Christ for understanding and guidance and the Holy Spirit to teach you and help you to apply the Word of God in your life. “James 1:22-25 (KJV) But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. [23] For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: [24] For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. [25] But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”
