Righteousness of GOD – 2024.11.13

Romans 3:21-26 (KJV)
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
No one is righteous but only GOD is righteous. “Romans 3:10 (KJV) As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:”, “Revelation 16:5 (KJV) And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.”. What is righteousness? The Vine NT describes it as “the character or quality of being right or just” and describes righteous as “signifies “just,” without prejudice or partiality”.

Through Adam sin entered humanity resulting in everyone’s unrighteousness. But through Jesus Christ, GOD made the righteousness of GOD available to everyone who believes. “Romans 5:19 (KJV) For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.”. It is attained not by or through the law but by faith in Jesus Christ. It is attained not by what we do but by what Jesus Christ did and our faith in Jesus Christ and the finished work on the cross. We come into right standing with GOD thought faith exulting in the repentant from our sin and receiving His forgiveness.
“Romans 4:6-9 (KJV) Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, [7] Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. [8] Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. [9] Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.” The conclusion is that as it says in Romans 3:28 (KJV) “Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.”

Therefore be encouraged today and every day that GOD alone is righteous and made their way for us to be justified before Him so that when we believe in Jesus Christ we become the righteousness of GOD. “2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV) For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”. Let us call on Him in faith, turning away from our sin and instead turing to GOD (repentance). For those of us who believe let us be assured that we are the righteousness of GOD because of our faith (resulting in good works as a consequence of our faith) and not by our good works.
“Galatians 2:16 (KJV) Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.”
