1 Kings 22:5 (KJV) And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to day.
Jehoshaphat was wise to inquire of the LORD. He also was wise to double check the supposed answer “1 Kings 22:7 (KJV) And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him?” As it is written “2 Corinthians 13:1 (KJV) This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.”
Be encouraged today if you are making a big decision to ask the LORD for a word of guidance. These can come through your daily bible readings, prayer, what others say or observation. GOD is speaking all the time we just need to be aware of it and learn to be still and listen. “1 Kings 19:12-13 (KJV) And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. [13] And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?”.
It is wise for us to not only listen but then to step out in obedience and faith just as Abraham did. (See yesterdays devotion “Strong faith – 2024.11.14 https://missioncommunities.network/2024/11/14/strong-faith-2024-11-14/”)
