GOD gives the increase – 2024.12.23

1 Corinthians 3:6-8 (KJV)
6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

Jesus Christ is the LORD of the harvest. “Luke 10:1-3 (KJV) After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. [2] Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. [3] Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.”. “Matthew 9:35-38 (KJV) And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. [36] But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. [37] Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; [38] Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”

He has called each one of us to be part of it including to pray for other labourers. Each of our parts is different some plant the Word of God as a seed other water it. Even those who plant and water do it in different ways according to the gift, grace and calling of the LORD given to us. We are to work in unity together in the harvest, facilitating each others work.

GOD is the one who gives the increase. He is the LORD of the harvest as we saw. Therefore only to Him should go all the glory and labour in humility, So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
In Mark 4:26-29 (KJV) we see that we do not need to understand how the seed grows under the ground once plated only that we need to water it. Then it starts to sprout. We can be tempted to cut the new plant when it is too early and it becomes useless. There is the right time to harvest when the grain is fully ripe. “And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; [27] And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. [28] For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. [29] But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.”

Therefore be encouraged to work together in the harvest as the LORD has called each on of us everyone playing their part in humility giving glory to Jesus Christ. Knowing that the LORD bring the increase in the right time.
