Remembering GOD’s word – 2025.01.13

Proverbs 3:1-12 (KJV) over the next few days we will look at these verses. Today it will be verses 1-2.
1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:
12 For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Being children of GOD gives us privileges and responsibilities. GOD has given us His word the bible as a manual for life showing us how to come into relationship with Him through Jesus Christ and how to live a good life in the Kingdom of God.

Following a manual ensures that everything operates correctly and won’t fail earlier that designed. Therefore if we follow GOD’s instructions we will have “length of days, and long life, and peace”. Our life will extend to what GOD has designed for us and not be cut short. We will have His peace even in the midst of great troubles. “John 14:26-27 (KJV) But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. [27] Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Therefore we are encouraged here to keep the Word of God close to our heart, to not forget it but instead to remember it, study it and apply it in our life.
“1 Timothy 4:13-16 (KJV) Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. [14] Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. [15] Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. [16] Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.”
