Sticking with mercy and truth – 2025.01.14

Proverbs 3:1-12 (KJV)
1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:
12 For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

The LORD GOD Almighty is a good of mercy and truth. Jesus Christ Himself said “John 14:6 (KJV) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”, “Psalms 86:15-16 (KJV) But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth. [16] O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid.”
Therefore we need to stay close to the LORD for He is mercy and truth and it all comes from Him.

We also need to keep in the forefront of our heart and mind to walk in mercy and truth. Mercy is an expression of love coming from forgiveness and truth is the expression of the Word of God coming from Jesus Christ, who is the living word. As we discovered yesterday “2025.01.13” we need to know and apply GOD’s manual for life.

By sticking close to mercy and truth we know that we will have favour and understanding both from GOD and people. “Matthew 5:7 (KJV) Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.”, “John 8:32 (KJV) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Therefore be encouraged to stick close to Jesus Christ and practice His mercy and truth. “2 John 1:3 (KJV) Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.”
