Acknowledge the LORD – 2025.01.16

Proverbs 3:1-12 (KJV)
1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:
12 For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Whatever we do, wherever we go, whatever decisions we make we are acknowledge GOD our creator, the one who sustains us, life giver, …. Ultimately it is He who is in control, Who know the beginning from the end, Who knows what is good for us and what is not. We we make decisions we need to acknowledge GOD and who He is, surrendering them to Him. He then is the one who will direct us in the right way to go. It is really asking Him for wisdom as we will see tomorrow and it all start by acknowledging Jesus Christ.

Acknowledging is defined as “1. To admit the existence or truth of: 2.a. To express recognition of; make notice of: “When he saw me acknowledge him, he smiled as if we were dear friends” (Angela Patrinos). b. To express gratitude or appreciation for or to”. In the Finis Dake commentary it is explained as follows: “Begin, continue, and end every work, purpose, and plan with God. Self-sufficiency and self-confidence have been the ruin of mankind ever since the fall. Man’s sin has been to live independently of God. True religion consists of full acknowledgement of God in all human affairs (Pro 3:5). ”

Therefore let us be encouraged that we rightly acknowledge our LORD, submitting to Him everything and letting Him guide us in His ways. Let us be give to Him all thanksgiving, praise and worship as He leads us in the path we are to walk.
