Proverbs 19:2 (KJV) Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.
Here we are warned not to do anything in a rush and to gain knowledge and understanding of a situation before we make a decision and take action. Rushing our decisions, making knee jerk reactions are usually motivated by feelings of the flesh and will therefore cause us to sin. There are times when when it is wise to not do anything and if we have nothing good to say lets not say anything. “Proverbs 11:12 (KJV) He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.”
Therefore be encouraged and let us avoid knee jerk reactions. When we rush things the chances of sinning will increase. Words slip that we regret when they have left the mouth. Actions occur that we will lament over later. Therefore as it as it says in James 1:19-20 (KJV) “Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: [20] For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.”
Let us pause, pray, search the scriptures and discern the will of GOD. He is the one who gives us understanding of what to do. “Ephesians 5:17 (KJV) Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.”
As we were encouraged in yesterdays devotion “Galatians 5:16 (KJV) This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” – https://missioncommunities.network/2025/01/20/discerning-wickedness-2025-01-20/
