Galatians 6:1-5 (KJV)
1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
5 For every man shall bear his own burden.
There are many burdens we might end up carrying. One of them is sin. When we sin we place a burden on our self.
When we see someone carrying a burden of sin or any other type of burden we need to seek the LORD in how He wants us to help restore the person.
Before we consider taking steps to help we need to examine our own heart. This is so that we do not fall into temptation and have the Christlike attitude. For example, if there is pride, and attitude of intolerance or people making mistakes, thinking one is better than the person we are considering to help, we need to deal with our own burden of pride, and humble ourself.
“1 Peter 5:5-11 (KJV) Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. [6] Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: [7] Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. [8] Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: [9] Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. [10] But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. [11] To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”.
Therefore be encouraged today to not deceive ourself in thinking we are better than our bother and sister. Instead let us examine ourselves. Examine our thoughts and our actions, taking remedial actions as needed thereby carrying our own burdens. Then we also can celebrate in how Jesus Christ is working in our life and. If we do this we are in a position to help carry our bother or sisters burden and not end up sinning ourself.
The minimum we can do is pray for our bother or sister (in the right attitude) and many this is all the LORD requires us to do. Out of prayer the LORD might show us if we are to take other action.
“Philippians 4:5-7 (KJV) Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. [6] Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. [7] And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
“James 5:16 (KJV) Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
