In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth (2) – 2025.01.28

Acts 4:8-13 (KJV)
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,
9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

As we saw yesterday that the lame man was made well in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth “https://missioncommunities.network/2025/01/27/in-the-name-of-jesus-christ-of-nazareth-2025-01-27/”. But there is more than healing and miracles in the name of Jesus Christ. As we see herein verse 12 there is only salvation in the name of Jesus Christ. There is no one else, no other name which can save.

What are we shaved from? We are saved from sin and the consequences of sin. Sin separates us from GOD and therefore without Jesus Christ we would be for eternity separated from GOD in the lake of fire – the second death. Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins on the cross. “Romans 6:23 (KJV) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”. Sin came to humanity through one man Adam and now sin hav been dealt with for anyone who believes through the man Jesus Christ. “Romans 5:12-21 (KJV) Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: [13] (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. [14] Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. [15] But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. [16] And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. [17] For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) [18] Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. [19] For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. [20] Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: [21] That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Therefore be encouraged today to believe in and call on the name of Jesus Christ not only for healing, miracles but for salvation. And if you are in Jesus Christ then be encouraged to share that there is no other name by which we are to be saved. Jesus Christ Himself said “John 14:6 (KJV) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”.
