Psalms 15:1-5 (KJV)
1 A Psalm of David. LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
5 He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
When we are in Jesus Christ, having faith in Him, born again by the Holy Spirit, we are new creations. “2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”.
By the power of GOD thought the Holy Spirit we can from that point onward have a choice to walk in the Spirit or in the flesh as the LORD reveals His word and truth to us. “Galatians 5:16 (KJV) This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”. When we choose to walk in the Spirit the progressive outcome of our transformation will results us to walk in the way described in this Psalm:
- We will walk uprightly,
- Our works will be righteous,
- We speak the truth,
- We will not backbite,
- We will not door speak evil, gossip about and to those around us including our friends but instead do good,
- We dispose sin,
- We honour people who fear the LORD,
- We keep our promises even when it hurts us and do not change our mind,
- We lend to the poor without requiring extra payments like interest,
- We do not let ourself be bribed to pervert the truth.
Therefore be encouraged to walk in the Holy Spirit and let Him transform and renew you. The we will bear the fruit of GOD which are listed in Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV) “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, [23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”.
When we walk in that way we have GOD’s promise to never be moved.
