Guard our ways – 2025.03.13

Psalms 39:1 (KJV) To the chief Musician, even to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David. I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.

Let us be encouraged today to guard our ways. Why should we do this?

It is to protect us so we do not sin by what we say and do.

When we are with those who do not know the LORD we are to especially restrain our tongue. We are to keep a good testimony. Let it not be said of us “Romans 2:24 (KJV) For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.”.

How do we guard our ways? By following Jesus Christ and through that knowing, understanding and obeying His word. “James 4:7 (KJV) Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”. He is the one who empowers us to do this and He Himself helps us. “Matthew 6:13 (KJV) And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”. He empower us and transforms us so we can bear the fruit of the Spirit. “Galatians 5:22-23 (ASV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, [23] meekness, self-control; against such there is no law.”
