Presence of my enemies – Psalms 23 Part 17 – 2025.04.10

Psalms 23:5 (KJV) Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

The LORD GOD Almighty is also glorified and glorifies His people before His and their enemies. He ants them to see His provision, protection, glory and majesty.
“Jeremiah 30:17-20 (KJV) For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after. [18] Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob’s tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof. [19] And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small. [20] Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish all that oppress them.”

Let us all be encouraged today by the examples of:
Stephen the martyr to whom He sowed His glory before those who will stone him (read Acts 7) ”Acts 7:55-57 (KJV) But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, [56] And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. [57] Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,”

And Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego who He saved from the wrath of Nebuchadnezzar out of the fiery furnace (read Daniel 3:10-28) “Daniel 3:24-26 (KJV) Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. [25] He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. [26] Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.”

Therefore let us continue as it is written in Titus 2:7-8 (KJV) “In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, [8] Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.” So that through our godly behaviour and GOD working in and through us our enemies will be astonished, silenced and glorify Jesus Christ, our LORD and Saviour.
