Psalms 23:6 (KJV) Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
What is goodness?
Free Dictionary defines it as:
- the state or quality of being good
- generosity; kindness
- moral excellence; piety; virtue
- kindness; generosity.
- the best or most valuable part of anything; essence.
- a euphemism for God: Thank goodness!
To me goodness also speaks of:
- Unconditional love
- Sacrifice
- Deliverance
- Provision
- Guidance
- Dependable
- Trustworthy
John 10 describes how good our Shepard Jesus Christ is:
“John 10:11 (KJV) I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.“
“John 10:14 (KJV) I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.”
“John 10:9 (KJV) I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”
“John 10:27-28 (KJV) My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: [28] And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”
Therefore let us all be always encouraged that Jesus Christ got our back no matter what.
“2 Corinthians 1:9-10 (KJV) But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: 10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;”
“2 Timothy 4:17-18 (KJV) Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. 18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
