Goodness and Mercy – Psalms 23 Part 28 – 2025.04.25

Psalms 23:6 (KJV) Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

GOD is omnipresent. No one can hide from Him. His goodness and mercy are therefore everywhere.
“Psalms 139:7-12 (KJV) Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? [8] If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. [9] If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; [10] Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. [11] If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. [12] Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.”
Even when we wander off He, Jesus Christ the good shepherd, will seek us out.
“Matthew 18:11-14 (KJV) For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. [12] How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? [13] And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. [14] Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.”

Therefore let us be encouraged today to receive and stay in His goodness and mercy. If we happen to wander off, to know that He desires to bring us back to Himself so we can keep tasting His goodness. If we turned away from Him let us turn back to Him (repent).

“Psalms 34:8 (KJV) O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”

“1 John 1:9 (KJV) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

“Hebrews 12:1-2 (KJV) Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, [2] Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
