Genesis 8:21-22 (KJV)
21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.
22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

GOD promised the flood through the preaching of Noah and nearly everyone did not believe and repent (turn away from their evil ways and walk in gods ways).
“2 Peter 2:5 (KJV) And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;”
Instead they kept on sinning.

After the flood when the waters receded GOD made three promises:
One, that He will never flood the the world like this again.
Two, that He will not curse the ground again as He did at the fall of Adam and Eve and also the great devastation and upheaval of the ground that the flood caused.
Three, that He will keep the seasons as long as the earth remains. That is until He will create a new heaven and a new earth “Revelation 21:1 (KJV) And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.”

Therefore let us be encouraged today that GOD will keep He promises. He never changes.
“Hebrews 10:23 (KJV) Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)”
“Hebrews 13:8 (KJV) Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
So whatever Jesus Christ promised He will preform as it is written about Abraham:
“Romans 4:20-21 (KJV) He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; [21] And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.”

Have a read of Hebrews 11 to get a good summary of how people held on to GOD’s promises, including Noah “Hebrews 11:7 (KJV) By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.”
