Psalms 130:3-4 (KJV)
3 If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?
4 But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.
We all have sinned, missed the mark, did not meet GOD’s standard. There is none who who can honestly say I have no sin, I have never sinned, I will not ever sin.
“Romans 3:23 (KJV) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
If the LORD GOD Almighty would not forgive sin there be no hope for any of us.
But let us all be encouraged today that we can give thanks to GOD that He is full of mercy. He forgives our failings if we come to Him, ask for forgiveness and repent.
“Psalms 86:15 (KJV) But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.”
“1 Corinthians 15:56-57 (KJV) The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. [57] But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
“John 3:16-20 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [19] And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. [20] For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.”
This is the reason we fear GOD [fear, respect, reverence, piety, revered]. Because He is so awesome, so mercifully, so gracious, full of forgiveness. He takes our sin as described in “Psalms 103:8-14 (KJV) The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. [9] He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. [10] He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. [11] For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. [12] As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. [13] Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. [14] For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.”
