“1 Thessalonians 5:23 (KJV) And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
We are Spirit, Soul/Min and Body
- Our spirit is saved when we are born again (justification). We are joined with GOD, we are part of His family, His Holy Spirit dwells in us, we are seated with Him in heavenly places,we have eternal life and will be with Him when we die. “Luke 17:20-21 (KJV) And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: [21] Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.”
- Our souls/mind is being saved/sanctified through the renewal as we grow in Jesus Christ (sanctification). We become more like Jesus, the fruit of the Holy Spirit become more evident and grows, we discover and fulfil our purpose and calling. “Romans 12:1-2 (KJV) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. [2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
- Our body will be saved at the resurrection (glorification). We will have a new spiritual body. There be no more pain and suffering. ”Philippians 3:17-21 (KJV) Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. [18] (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: [19] Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) [20] For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: [21] Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.”
Let us be encouraged today be strong in the LORD, to be: loving, joyful, peaceful, steadfast, watchful, faithful, long suffering, kind, godly, ….. and willing to serve Jesus Christ in what ever way He calls.
“Galatians 5:22-26 (KJV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, [23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. [24] And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. [25] If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. [26] Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.”
“1 Corinthians 16:13-14 (KJV) Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. [14] Let all your things be done with charity.”
