Acts 4:1-2 (KJV)
1 And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them,
2 Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

Preaching Jesus Christ being the Saviour, the LORD, the Truth, the Way and the Life – that in Him is the resurrection of the dead will disturb the religious especially the religious leaders.
This results in persecution as Jesus Christ promised.
“Mark 10:29-30 (KJV) And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, [30] But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.”

But let us be encouraged by the words of Jesus in John 16:33 (KJV) “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”.
We know that GOD will work it out for good somehow like here causing many to be saved:
“Acts 4:3-4 (KJV) And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide. [4] Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.”
