Prayer when there is opposition – 2025.11.21

Psalms 86:14-17 (KJV)
14 O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them.
15 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.
16 O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid.
17 Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, LORD, hast holpen me, and comforted me.

When people who do not walk with the LORD rise up and cause to do us harm we can pray like David.
Therefore let us be encouraged to ask the LORD Jesus Christ to:

  • Help us by guiding us,
  • Have mercy on us so we do not suffer,
  • Give us strength to go thought the difficulties,
  • Saves us from the harm they want to cause,
  • Show to those who want to harm us that you are: good, our help, and comforter so that they might be ashamed, repent and be saved.

“Matthew 5:43-48 (KJV) Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. [44] But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; [45] That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. [46] For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? [47] And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? [48] Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”
