Calling on the name of Jesus – 2025.12.16

Psalms 105:1-5 (KJV)

1 O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.

3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.

4 Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

5 Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

Over the next few devotions we will look at various actions the LORD wants us to do as outlined in these verses.

Let us be encouraged and know that the LORD is there waiting for us to call on Him in our time of need and distress. “Romans 10:13 (KJV) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

All it takes is to come to Him in boldly, in faith and cry out to Him knowing that we are helpless and that only He can help.

Hebrews 4:14-16 (KJV) Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. [15] For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. [16] Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

The rest of this Psalm goes through recollecting/remembering some of the wonderful things the LORD did so we can see examples of how He rescued those who called on the name of the LORD.

Let us pray. Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I/we cry our to You, please delivery me/us from this distress and help me/us in the time of need for I/we am helpless and don’t know what to do. Save us as I/we put my/our trust in you.
