Psalms 118:8-9 (KJV)

8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

9 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.

Let us be encouraged today to keep on trusting in the LORD. If we trust man or rulers we will be disappointed. People fail but GOD never fails.

As followers of Jesus Christ we are to emulate Jesus and as He said in Matthew 5:37 “(KJV) But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.” We need to do stick to our word. The difference between us and GOD is that He is in total control and we are not. Things can come in to our way like an accident which hinders us to fulfill our promise to be somewhere at a said time. But GOD never fails and will keep His promise.

“Hebrews 10:23 (KJV) Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)”

Therefore let us keep our eye on Jesus Christ and not let what we see overwhelm us.

Let us pray. Father we put our total trust in Jesus Christ. You are trustworthy and You will complete the good work you have started in our life. We fix our eye on you, for you will work our for good whatever we are going through. As you say in Your word:

“Philippians 1:6 (KJV) Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:”

“Romans 8:28 (KJV) And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
