Do not loose heart in prayer – 2026.01.07

Luke 18:1-8 (KJV)
1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Let us be encouraged to not loose heart when we pray and have not yet seen GOD answer. The LORD want us to not give up but to keep on asking Him till He answers with a yes or a no.

In 1 Samuel 1 we see how Hannah prayed because she was barren and how the LORD answered:
“1 Samuel 1:10-11 (KJV) And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore. [11] And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.”
“1 Samuel 1:13 (KJV) Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken.”

“1 Samuel 1:27-28 (KJV) For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him: [28] Therefore also I have lent him to the LORD; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the LORD. And he worshipped the LORD there.”

The after that the LORD blessed her with more children. “1 Samuel 2:21 (KJV) And the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the LORD.”

Let us pray. Father we bless your name and thank yo for your goodness and mercy yo have shown us. Help us keep our eye on you and to keep asking for what we need and not loose heart. We know that you will answer and in the right time and in the right way and that you will even give us more that we can ask and hoper for.
“James 1:5-6 (KJV) If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. [6] But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.”
