Psalms 26:2 (KJV) Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.
All of us need to let the LORD GOD Almighty examine us. GOD is all knowing, omniscient. So He knows everything, our thought actions even before we think and do them. “Psalms 139:2 (KJV) Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.”. Why then do we need to ask Him to examine us? It is a surrender and shows GOD a willingness to let Him work in our life. It demonstrates a soft heart towards GOD. “Psalms 139:23-24 (KJV) Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: [24] And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”. There are things in us that we are also not conscious of and by asking GOD to give our heart and mind a checkup is a good thing so we can ask Him to change us in the areas that He exposes so we can walk right before the LORD. See “https://missioncommunities.network/2025/02/26/walk-worthy-2025-02-26/”.
People who love sin try to hide before GOD, but there is not hiding. “Psalms 139:7-12 (KJV) Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? [8] If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. [9] If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; [10] Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. [11] If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. [12] Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.”. So the best thing is to surrender to Him and let Him examine and transform us.
Let us be encouraged in asking GOD to give a regular examination of our heart and mind. For our desire should be to become more like Him. See “https://missioncommunities.network/2025/02/27/imitating-jesus-christ-2025-02-27/”.
