Psalms 23:2 (KJV) He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
So far we discovered that Jesus Christ supplies all we need and that we need to partake of what He gives us. We looked at no want and the green pastures He makes us lie down on.

Today let us look at He makes us lie down. What does that mean? When we lie down we can experience rest, recovery, peace, cessation of striving, stability, settling, calm, contentment ….
Jesus Christ Himself said “John 14:27 (KJV) Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” When Jesus Christ makes us lie down we do not need to be troubled despite of what is going on. It is all because He is our Shepard. He takes care of us. We fully trust in Him and He provides all we need.

Therefore let us be encouraged today that we do not need to run around trying to make things happen but learn to rest in Jesus Christ. “Hebrews 4:2-3 (KJV) For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. [3] For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.”. Have a read of Hebrews Chapter 3 and 4 on more about the rest in Jesus Christ.

Therefore in whatever place or situation we find ourself in let us learn to be content knowing that Jesus Christ makes us lie down in green pastures. That He is the good Shepard and takes care of us.
“Philippians 4:11 (KJV) Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.”
